One page for what's on in Lancaster County.
Lancaster Live is a single, fast, searchable place to find what's happening across Lancaster County — live music and trivia nights, brewery and winery events, family days and story times, markets and festivals. The promise is small and specific: "What's going on tonight?" — answered in two seconds.
How this paper gets made
Every listing is gathered by hand from the venue's own calendar — the same way you'd find it if you spent an afternoon clicking through fifteen brewery websites and a couple of Facebook event pages. We do that clicking so you don't have to. Each row in the bulletin links back to the venue's calendar, so if something looks off, the source is one click away. The bulletin is curated by hand and updated weekly.
We may add automated updates later to help us cover more venues. For now, it's all done by hand — which means the list is small, honest, and double-checkable. We'd rather list a little less and be right than list everything and be wrong.
The two kinds of listing
Taken from the venue's own calendar. It's a real, posted show — but calendars change, so double-check the details on the venue's page before you go.
Not yet checked against the source. Often the time or the lineup isn't nailed down. The show is real; some detail may shift.
Accuracy beats completeness. If a venue has an event we can't stand behind, we'd rather under-list than print something wrong. The whole point of this paper is that you can trust the page.
Why a newspaper
The web is full of slick app-style calendars that all blur together. A newsprint layout is a stance: this is a neighborhood bulletin, not a national brand. Dense, plain-spoken, reliable. Set in Playfair Display and EB Garamond. Best read on a Friday afternoon with a cup of coffee.
If we got something wrong
Send a note to hello@lanclive.com with the show and the venue. If you run a venue or play in a band, the same address gets you a self-submitted listing. A proper Submit a Show form is on the way.
What this could grow into
The same plumbing — sources, confidence, location and time — works for a lot more than music. Adjacent ideas that locals keep asking about:
- Farmers markets & food trucks. Lancaster has dozens, with confusing weekly patterns. Same data shape.
- Trivia, open mics, karaoke. Already brewery-adjacent. Easy add.
- Agritourism & farm events. Pick-your-own, corn mazes, farm tours — Lancaster's signature, scattered across a hundred small sites.
- Auctions & community sales. A uniquely-Lancaster culture that has no central calendar.
- Outdoor events. Park concerts, hikes, kid stuff. Slot right into the location/radius picker.
Music is where it started; the same hand-curated approach now covers trivia, food & drink, family events, markets and more — one trustworthy page for the whole county.
